Stamps of Czechoslovakia
24 Apr 2023, 22:21:17
Hi,

in 1991 and 1992, the state of Czechoslovakia issued CEPT stamps, before it divided into the Czech Republic and Slovakia by the end of 1992.

I would like to add those stamps to the catalog, but I wonder where? Should they be added to the Czech Republic as one of the "following states" of the original country of issue? Or maybe Slovakia?
Any ideas on this?

No, the ex-Czechoslovakia stamps are no longer valid.

But as I said, I didn't know the club is focused on valid stamps, when I started this topic. :)

In Italy all postage stamps since 1960 can be lawfully used, obviously at their equivalent value in Euros.

Are the ex-Czechoslovakia stamps still valid?

Ah, ok. I didn't know that. I received some old Italian and France CEPT stamps (pre-EURO) already and wrongly assumed they aren't valid postage either. Now I learned they still are. :)

So my general idea was when sending cards from Czech Republic to put on any new valid stamp plus one of the Czechoslovakian CEPT stamps, which would be more like "sticker" to say so.

But I understand your point, maybe those stamps are better suited for swaps then.

At this point the club is focused on stamps that can be used to mail a postcard. How do you intend to use them?
