Some members don't use stamps they picked from the list
11 Feb 2020, 20:13:12
I have noticed that some members of this club choose totally different stamps from the list than they send. It’s very sad thing for a receiver because you can receive a specific stamp only once.

For example in this case the sender picked Swiss 2019 stamp from the list but she sent a card from Russia with Russian stamp: http://europapostcards.club/postcards/RU-258

I think something should be done about this. My suggestion is that the list would be limited so that senders could choose stamps only from their own country.

What do you thing? Do you have more ideas?

The option to receive an item again is now available. You can go to "Stamps exchanges" page, section "Items".

I have started working on the option to remove items from the received list in order to receive that item again. 50% completed.

Meike, we could try it and maybe Instagram too. :) But what would be a good name for the Facebook group so the Europa stamps lovers would easily find it? "Europa Stamps on postcards (europapostcards.club)"?

I see what you mean, Tiia, and the imbalance of countries is a growing problem. Do you have an idea how to find new members from other countries? Maybe we could create an Europa group on facebook?

MeikeH, also beatitudinem has used wrong stamps: RU-121 and RU-124. :/

Over half of the members of this club are from Russia at the moment and it can be very difficult for them to get new addresses especially if they don't allow exchange partners from their own country. We would badly need new members from other countries than Russia to keep this club in balance.

Ronald, the problem is that you don't see if the right stamp was used until after you have registered it. And when you change the rating afterwards it doesn't show....

Danubius, I just noticed that Marina also used the wrong stamps, the latest arrived today: RU-289.
RU-241 is incorrect as well. Since not everybody posts pictures of the stamps it's difficult to tell if there are more.
I received a different stamp myself today (RU-255) but since it is the 2020 stamp I don't mind.

However, it seems to really turn into a problem that members don't play by the rules :-((

Strange that someone who sends 4 times the wrong stamp still receives a rating of 5, that would be worth a 1 in my mailbox. The idea of a list to "remove" items from your received list so you can get the stamp again would help in this case and I would use it in case of an ugly cancellation too. I am in for "travel mode" too if possible.

Danubius, your idea sounds brilliant. It didn't come to my mind. Of course my suggestion does not resolve the problem completely, but then you would not be able to pick "an easy country" instead of your own country. Travel mode (like in the Postcrossing site) would be great but it's maybe not easy to do.

Regina from Russia (Kora251279) has so far sent 4 cards with wrong stamps. I received a card with a stamp which was supposed to be from Austria 2015 but was in fact Russian. I have written to her, pointing out that she made a mistake but did not get any response.

You would still be able to choose another item (from your own country) then the one you send. This is a situation for a negative rating.

I'm thinking about having a list with all the received items. You would be able to remove items from this list and in this way you would be able to receive that item again. It could be useful in situations like this or if the stamp was damaged or if you don't like the cancellation.
