Stamp from Gambia
10 May 2022, 07:50:03
Gambia has a stamp about CEPT. Even if it's not in the program, I thought that as an exception, it would be interesting to members to receive this stamp that was celebrating the CEPT program.

What are your thoughts regarding this?

Should we have shuch stamps in the club?
Should I make it as an option?
Or maybe when such stamps appear, this would be more switable for direct swaps for those interested?

Thank you for adding this option. :)

I have addted "Receive unofficial items related to Europa CEPT" option in page "Exchange options". It is dependent on the country you have chosen in the page "Edit profile". If you send stamps from Gambia for example, it it important to change your country in the "Edit profile" page.

For me it’s fine to have stamps from Gambia in the club! But I believe that ticking an option “Pure CEPT” should be introduced too as a compromise.

I would be happy to receive a stamp from the Gambia too!

I'm glad to have opportunity to receive the stamps from Gambia, too!

I like to get these stamps from Gambia!

As a lucky receiver of a Gambia stamp, I think it's nice to have those stamps in the club.
Maybe make it an option, if not everyone would like to receive them.

As mentioned by Puntin_Cept, there are "50th anniversary CEPT stamps" issued by serveral countries around the globe. Could be a very interesting topic related to "pure CEPT" stamps, if those were added. :)

I loved receiving from the Gambia, it is my first postcard from there, since it is rare that there are members to any site...
Of course to send instead of spending 1.15 €, I spend 2.40 €.

I was thrilled that Gambia has issued this 50th anniversary CEPT stamp, and I would say 'Yes' to adding countries outside of Europe which have such stamps.

In this case, the 2 members Marie and Wilhelm travel between Gambia and Germany, and since February I have drawn their address 6 times, 3 times to Gambia.
Postage from Switzerland within Europe has risen to €1.80 and outside of Europa to €2.30 which is why I have to cut down the amount of cards I send. Nevertheless, I sent the cards to Marie & Wilhelm in Gambia always hoping I would receive a postcard and stamps from there. So far, however, all their cards came from Germany. I guess it's my bad luck.

In general, I think the more countries we have the better it is for the club.

May I kindly ask the others, what you think? I don't want to send to people, who do not want to receive my stamps. So I stopped mailing until I know an outcome.

I think the "option" is a nice idea - people who do not want to receive or send to them choose "pure CEPT"

I vote that these stamps are for direct swaps. Or club members could choose from "Exchange options" if they're interested in receiving them.

As some other member pointed out to me, they are not exactly Europa - CEPT stamps, but 50th anniversary CEPT stamps.

For me it is ok to leave them in the club (if there are still in circulation also from other 50th Countries I would like to receive them!).
As they have a double address and as shipping outside Europe is often expensive, we could send them our postcards to their address in Germany ;-)
